Mayor Casper has a record of achievement:

  • The local unemployment rate has been cut nearly in half from 4.5% to 2.3%.

  • Idaho Falls saw record building permits of $94 million in 2016 and near record levels this year.

  • More than 40 local businesses have move to or expanded in Idaho Falls this year and more are on the way.

  • Cost of living in Idaho Falls (looking at property taxes & utilities) is cheaper for the average homeowner than Rexburg, Rigby, Ammon, Blackfoot or Pocatello.

Promises kept by Mayor Casper:

  • Promised to explore turning EITC into a community college. In May 74% of I.F. voters helped create the College of Eastern Idaho.

  • Promised to boost the INL. As a member of the LINE Commission has been a champion for the Small Modular Reactor. The first SMR is being permitted right now for the INL. It could have gone to Washington state.

  • Promised to champion economic development. Helped forge REDI, our new regional economic development organization.

  • Promised to improve I.F.’s recreational opportunities and attractiveness to visitors. Backed Greenbelt improvements, downtown upgrades, Zoo expansion, new wayfinding signs for visiting tourists, Ryder Park fishing ponds, expansion of bike & walking paths and more.
